近年、再注目を集める写真集の自主制作。その制作の要となるダミーブック作りのワークショップを開講します。ダミーブック作りの過程はプロジェクトを本というオブジェクトして「まとめる」ということ以外に、段階的にプロジェクトを「発展」させていく上で非常に重要な役割を果たします。4ヶ月間の制作期間を経て、プロジェクトを発展させながら、よりコンセプトにあったダミーブックを完成させること を目的としています。講師は、パリフォトブックアワードショートリストウィナーで出版経験もある藤井ヨシカツと小原一真。ダミーブック作りの基礎から、プロジェクトの進め方、発表、ブックアワードへの応募、出版社へのアプローチ方法を学びます。自身の作品を写真集として世界に送り出すことを考えている写真家の応募をお待ちしています。 KYOTOGRAPHIEのパブリックプログラムとして開催される今回。出来如何によっては来年のKYOTOGRAPHIEでの展示が予定されています。

<Dummy Book Workshop Kyoto #2"> Handmade photo books are now an important way to show photography, the popularity and success of artist made photo books can be seen in many of the top international photo events. This workshop will teach you how to build a “dummy book”. This initial book plays a intrinsic role in the creation of a full publication. The dummy book is a great addition to a project, helping develop and communicate your ideas. Over 4 months of workshops you will build a dummy book that suits your project. We welcome Yoshikatsu Fujii and Kazuma Obara whose books were shortlisted for Paris Photo /Aperture Photo Book Award and published. You will learn every step to make your own book come to fruition, the workshops include strategy and tips for application to awards and the know how for approaching publishers.
